Posted by Simone in Tablatures | Comments (0) | Trackbacks (0)
Tablatures 1.8 has just been released.

New in this version:

  • Added an option to draw left-handed chord diagrams.

  • MIDI playback can be paused. A pause button is available among those that can be added to the toolbar.

  • Added "Uniform Positions Width" in the Score menu: it makes the width of positions (i.e. the distance between notes) uniform across the whole score.

FAQ How do I enter two notes with different duration, starting at the same time?

Quoting an user:

"I cannot seem to figure out how to, for example, put down a whole note on one string of a quarter note on another *that start at the same time*. This makes it impossible to create a base line for a piece of music that isn't played exactly on beat with the treble part of the music."

Tablatures allows you to write your high and low melodies independently, thus you can achieve what you need in the following way.

Let's start by adding a note to the high melody:

Then, in the Notes Panel, we switch to Low melody, change the duration and enter the second note:

That's it. :-)

Tablatures Tablatures 1.6
Posted by Simone in Tablatures | Comments (0) | Trackbacks (0)
An update for Tablatures has just been released.

It's a maintenance release containing the following fixes:

  • Improved cursor movements.

  • If you add a time/key signature to a barline, the system is re-layouted to fit all the notes.

  • When editing a tempo marker, the BPM value wasn't updated if you closed the dialog while the focus was still on the tempo text box. Fixed.

  • Sometimes a key signature couldn't be changed. Fixed.

  • Updated the Apple Remote functions to support Leopard.

  • Other minor fixes.

Tablatures Tablatures 1.5
Posted by Simone in Tablatures | Comment (1) | Trackbacks (0)
A new release of Tablatures is available.

The most important addition in this release is a basic and experimental* support for GuitarPro 3-5 files (*.gp3, *.gp4, *.gp5). GP tablatures can be read, but they will be converted to PowerTab when saved, keeping only the first two scores since that is PTB's limit.

* this means that some files may not work. Feel free to report any problem you find.
