Wiz Solitaire 1.31 is now available.

This release improves suggestions in Chinese Solitaire: useless moves won't be proposed and the most useful ones will be shown first.

Wiz Solitaire 1.30 has just been released.

This version adds a couple of options that were requested by users:

FreeCell: added an option to move cards by pointing and clicking (as in a Microsoft game) instead of using drag and drop.

Klondike: added an option to choose whether to display the deck as a fan or not.

Wiz Solitaire 1.29 is now available.

Here's the list of changes since the previous version:

A new game has been added: TriPeaks.

SeaHaven: foundations could be incorrectly built down in color, instead of in suit as per rules. Fixed.

Black Hole: sometimes the ace of spades wasn't dealt correctly. Fixed.

I cannot find the Deck Editor. Where is it?

The Deck Editor is shipped together with Wiz Solitaire. When you download and mount the dmg archive, you'll find these files:

WizSolitaire-*.dmg contents

Typically, you should drag'n'drop the whole WizSolitaire folder into your Applications directory. In this way you'll also install the Space deck, which you can use as an alternative to the Standard one (other decks are available for download).

Is it possible to play Spider with more than one suit?

Yes: you can use the New Game with Options... item under the Game menu to choose how many decks you wish to play with.

You don't need to do it every time you start a new game, since it will remember the last used setting.

The same menu item can be used to set the options for other games as well (for instance, in Klondike you can use it to change the number of cards dealt when clicking on the deck or to allow partial column moves).

As of this release, the official minimum requirement for Wiz Solitaire is Mac OS X 10.3.9

Chinese Solitaire, Diplomat, Rouge et Noir, Scorpion, Seahaven: cards can grew bigger when you enlarge the window.

Diplomat: double-clicking on cards will move them to the first available foundation or pile.

Wiz Solitaire 1.27 has just been released.

Here's the list of changes since the previous version:

Added a "Clean Up" function in the "Game" menu (also available as a button you can add to the toolbar). It automatically performs all the available moves towards foundations: use it only when you've almost completed the game and you can see that you're going to win, otherwise it will only spoil the fun.

Eagle Wing: fixed according to the rules.

Wiz Solitaire 1.26 is now available.

This release focuses on a couple of improvements that have been requested for Klondike:

an option to allow partial column moves has been added (e.g. if K-Q-J-10 is one pile and Q is another, you can move J-10 onto the other Q). Enabling this option makes the game easier to complete.

when you ask for a hint, useless actions like moving a King from a pile to another won't be suggested.

Wiz Solitaire 1.25 is now available.

New in this release:

Baker's Dozen: double clicking on a card will move it to the correct foundation, if possible.

Added a shortcut to toggle the toolbar (Command + T).

Made the statistics sheet resizable.

Free Cell: made it possible to select which game to play. Use the "Game->New Game with Options..." menu item to enter the number of the game. The first million games are the same that can be played on the Free Cell implementation shipped with Microsoft Windows.

Scorpion: a message will signal when you are forced to deal the last 3 cards because no other move is available.

A "Game Rules" item has been added to the "Help" menu: it will open an utility panel with the rules of the game you're playing.

Chinese Solitaire, Yukon: changed the layout of the table to give more room to foundations.

Wiz Solitaire 1.24 is now available.

This release is focused on improving the undo function, based on users' feedback:

A button for "Undo Move" is now available for inclusion in the toolbar.

The fix for undo in the previous version actually broke it when undoing the movement of stack of cards in other games. This version should handle undo correctly in all cases, hopefully.

Wiz Solitaire 1.23 is now available.

A couple of user suggestions were implemented, along with some fixes:

Changed the default background to use a gradient fill instead of being solid white, in order to be more comfortable to the eyes.

Cards can optionally cast a shadow (Mac OS X 10.3 or later required - shadows appearance may vary according to the hardware).

Added an image for empty cells.

Trefoil: sometimes a game would start without dealing all the aces. Fixed.

La Belle Lucie, Trefoil: fixed undo of merci moves.

Another New Year release is ready.

Wiz Solitaire 1.22 features the following improvements:

Klondike: added a warning message when only a card is left in stock and you try to turn it over.

Klondike: added option to deal only one card at once.

Diplomat, Klondike, Spider: when beginning a new game, the previous settings will automatically be used. It's possible to change them using the new item "New Game with Options..." in the "Game" menu.
