Tablatures 1.34

Here’s the first Tablatures update of 2011 🙂

This release contains the following changes:

  • The handling of dynamics in GP files has been improved.
  • The play rate slider in the toolbar now shows the scaling factor too. Also, it’s possible to click on the percentage to edit the value manually.

When I put a vibrato effect on a held note, and play it back, the volume of the playback drops off dramatically after the vibrato. Does it stay at a lower volume level from the end of the vibrato?

Simone

says:

vibrato is rendered using the “modulation wheel” MIDI effect, so it shouldn’t really affect volume. Are you sure that there isn’t a dynamic as well?

If you wish, feel free to send an example tab by email and I’ll look into it.

Can you display the key signature on every system, without displaying a barline?

Awesome product by the way. Even better now that I’ve learnt the keyboard shortcuts.

Simone

says:

yes, you can make the key signature appear on every system: just move the caret at the beginning of the system and use the Edit button next to Barline in the Musical Symbols Panel.

Also, check the Preferences: there’s an option to automatically make time and key signatures visible when creating new systems.

I would like to be able to place notes of different duration on the same beat.
Example is thumb picked quarter notes, with syncopated eigths above.
The notes seem to be required to have the same value on the same beat?

how when you change the clef from treble to bass (but have already written your tabs out) do you make it so all the notes are in a reasonable place and not way at the top?

Simone

says:

You probably need to change the tuning of the guitar you’ve used: use Score -> Edit Guitars to change the tuning, number of strings and MIDI preset of the instrument (I suppose you want to write a bass score)
