TabView 1.14

Here’s a new version of TabView.

Guitar Setup panel - click to enlargeIt’s now possible to see the details of the guitars defined in the tab using the new Guitar Setup panel: for every guitar you can see the description, the tuning and the capo to use (if any). You can also click on the string buttons to tune your guitar.

Also, MIDI playback has been improved to handle capo’s and tuning offset just like PowerTabEditor does on Windows.

Why the new version is 2.1 while the previous one was 2.90?

Version numbers used by the products on this site are not decimals*: they follow the scheme <version>.<revision>

Thus, 2.10 is not the same as 2.1: the latest MP3 Cat is version 2, revision 10. The previous one was actually 2.9.

* it would be too boring if everyone followed this rule: some people really use them as they were decimals or even marketing tools 🙂 There’s a quite long article on several versioning schemes on Wikipedia for the most curious ones.

Wiz Solitaire (for Mac OS X) 1.25

Wiz Solitaire 1.25 is now available.

New in this release:

  • Baker’s Dozen: double clicking on a card will move it to the correct foundation, if possible.
  • Added a shortcut to toggle the toolbar (Command + T).
  • Made the statistics sheet resizable.
  • Free Cell: made it possible to select which game to play. Use the “Game->New Game with Options…” menu item to enter the number of the game. The first million games are the same that can be played on the Free Cell implementation shipped with Microsoft Windows.
  • Scorpion: a message will signal when you are forced to deal the last 3 cards because no other move is available.
  • A “Game Rules” item has been added to the “Help” menu: it will open an utility panel with the rules of the game you’re playing.
  • Chinese Solitaire, Yukon: changed the layout of the table to give more room to foundations.
